Defeating Normal
Many people cause them selves great amounts of stress by trying to obtain ‘Normal’
Thank goodness for the private sector!
Aug 19th
According to labor statistics, the private sector is hiring faster than in the last 2 recessions. A total of 675K jobs over the last 5 months. The sliding employee isn’t the one that actually works for a living but instead is one of the “hogs at the trough”. I know of several that have lived on the Gov’t dole for the last 25 years and gleefully look forward to their future as gainfully employed. Maybe the Tea Bagger movement will serve a purpose after all. At least after it goes through a next step in evolution and quits using the Neo-Con hate speak.
One of the saddest situations that has come out of the 43 Reich was the despicable way our local troops were taken advantage of in the rush to an necessary war in Iraq. National Guardsmen have came home after tours with no medical, no un-employment and no jobs waiting as promised.
I as a private citizen am eagerly looking forward to November so the country can put away the pitchforks and “Swords of Constantine” and get back to the simple task of making a living.
Achtung! Your papers please!
May 14th
Leave it to a comedian to see the total lunacy of the “Your Papers Please!” state of nAZi as just another money maker for the so called right wing pundits. Good Bit Lewis.
Whom Would Jesus Rent?
May 7th
Closeted anti-gay right-wing Christians never seem to learn. George Rekers, a founding member of the anti-gay Family Research Council, just discovered the price of hypocrisy. He was caught by a Miami News Times photographer returning from a vacation in Europe with a male escort he hired on Rentboy.com, which bills itself as “the world’s largest gay escort and massage site.”
A Baptist minister and professor of psychology at the University of South Carolina, Rekers is also involved with the National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality (NARTH), an anti-gay “professional, scientific organization that offers hope to those who struggle with unwanted homosexuality.” Doesn’t sound like he was doing much struggling with it on his trip. Have tree will fell.
Jan 23rd
Kinda proud of myself on this one. This 100′ Red Oak got sick about 2 years ago when we had a very late may freeze that lasted 2 days. I’ve already taken down about 10 trees around the house but this one was in a precarious place. I had to drop it up hill within a zone of about 5 feet wide. Notice the still standing bird house. 8-)Â We use wood for heat and I got the tree down, bucked and split in about 6 hrs. This was made possible with my dear side kick Yankee’s help. More >
It’s Not The Tree In Your Christmas But The Christmas In Your Tree
Dec 14th
With Christmas approaching quickly, I thought I’d share some of my thoughts for the season…I love the holidays and look forward to them every year…This year, things are going to be different around our home and I know we will not be alone in the change…Instead of stressing out over Christmas shopping and battling the crowds, Glenn and I are enjoying our first quiet, tranquil holiday season…For the first time, yesterday I baked a holiday yeast bread filled with raisins, cherries, pineapple and, of course, black walnuts…I have to say, I really am quite tickled at the way it turned out…:-)…It is YUMMY!!!…I still plan on baking some more cookies, making some Christmas candy and whatever other new goodies I can try… More >

Rain Drops Keep Falling On My Head
Sep 26th
Another “soggy” Saturday in Tennessee…they are promising a “Sunny Sunday” and the week ahead looks cooler and nice…Hard to believe Thursday is October 1st already…Where has this year gone???…
Just got finished taking pics of “Rose” hanging upside down eating grapes…She picked one at a time off the vine and ate every last grape while hanging from the top of the cage…She really is quite the acrobat…
Hubby is busy working in the basement tearing out old AC duct work…The “Cleveland” household is going back to living like we used to do…Window AC units and a wood burning stove for heat…Our electric bills are proof enough that the “central AC gluttons” waste a lot of electricity pumping the cold air all over the house…We have noticed a considerable reduction in our useage and with the woodstove, I am confident that our winter bills will be lower, too…
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of the weekend…Happy Fall!!!!
